About the Project

This two-week World Story Exchange workshop invited ten students (ages 14-17) from Salikenni's Upper Basic School to create documentary stories about their lives. Students learned basic photography and videography, then signed out cameras to document self-determined values such as school, home, food, family, work, play, religion, and their hopes for the future. Next they wrote narrations, recorded them, and worked with WSE instructors on computers to edit their stories. At the end of the project the films were screened outdoors for a huge audience of over 200 friends and family from their village.
